Oz - Season 2, Episode 4: Losing Your Appeal
TrailerRichie Hanlon (Jordan Lage) runs into serious trouble when some Aryans order him to perform oral sex. Hanlon resists, until they tell him they murdered Vogel. Later, when another inmate tries to bully Hanlon, he lashes out, and accidentally pushes the man over a railing, killing him. To avoid prosecution, Hanlon tells McManus (Terry Kinney) what he knows about Vogel's murder. But after Schillinger (J.K. Simmons) is brought in for questioning, he sends Hanlon an ultimatum with the help of a sympathetic guard. If Hanlon doesn't confess to the Vogel murder himself, the Aryans will kill him. Judge Grace Lema (Elaine Stritch) arrives at Oz to hear Said (Eamonn Walker) plead Hill's (Harold Perrineau) case. Said is ill-prepared, and when the hearing goes badly, Hill gives up, angrily telling Said that he can't take having his hopes raised. With the help of McManus and Said, Poet (muMs) has his work published in an anthology, and some influential people are advocating for his release. Said tries to convince Poet to give up drugs. O'Reily (Dean Winters) finds out that his cancer surgery was successful, but his chemo treatments weaken him, making him a target when he returns to Em City. McManus and Dr. Nathan (Lauren Velez) agree to let him stay in the hospital ward until he's done with chemo. O'Reily tells Nathan he's attracted to her, and she admits to Sister Peter Marie (Rita Moreno) that she's struggling with her feelings for him. Schibetta (Eddie Malavarca) and Adebisi (Adewale Akinnouye-Agbaje) each approach Alvarez (Kirk Acevedo), unsuccessfully trying to convince him to kill the other. Beecher (Lee Tergesen) gets a new cellmate, Chris Keller (Christopher Meloni). Beecher defends Keller when he gets into a fight with the Aryans, but it turns out that Keller is working with Schillinger to set Beecher up.Actors: Kirk Acevedo, Ernie Hudson, Terry Kinney, Rita Moreno, Harold Perrineau, J.K.
