Will the next terror-minded remake involve a possessed telegraph machine or a grudge-minded ox and cart? Neither option could be any lamer than the shock-free Shutter.Toronto StarMarch 24, 2008
With Shutter, that nerve-tingling soundtrack gets heavy use almost from the beginning of the movie. It becomes tiresome.Orlando SentinelMarch 24, 2008
Shutter is seriously short on shudders.NewsdayMarch 24, 2008
At some point in Shutter you will probably lose count, along with your patience, but the film will keep right on going.Globe and MailMarch 24, 2008

...an absolutely redundant piece of work...Cinema CrazedOctober 11, 2008

... the film feels like a made-for-TV movie.
