Critic Reviews of "Down Periscope"VarietyNovember 21, 2008
It's good-natured, innocuous frivolity that should raise a few smiles and generate good but not great spring box office.Time OutJanuary 26, 2006
he construction is so ramshackle (or the mood so PC) that the film-makers put a woman (Holly) on board, then can't find a thing to do with her.New York TimesJanuary 01, 2000
The tone of the acting, which is set by Mr. Grammer's blandly laid-back performance, is all wrong for a genre that demands over-the-top hamming.ReelViewsJanuary 01, 2000
There are occasional laughs, but, as with most movies that think they're funnier than they actually are, most of the jokes fall flat.Washington PostJanuary 01, 2000
More laid-back here than he is on television, Grammer seems to barely break a sweat.USA TodayJanuary 01, 2000
A soggy sub sandwich layered with cheesy action, stale jokes and gung-ho baloney.Common Sense MediaSeptember 09, 2014
Some innuendo, profanity in mediocre slapstick comedy.Antagony & EcstasyAugust 21, 2014
It's not exactly a bad movie, but it's so forgettable that it's almost exhausting.TV GuideAugust 04, 2009
