Evan M. Wiener's screenplay throws in too many disparate elements without developing any of them very effectively, while Grau's direction is slick but unable to provide the tension or consistency needed.

    Los Angeles Times

The film rests on the attractive but opaque Ms. Thorne, who is not ready for such weight.

Big Sky masquerades as a psychological thriller, but underneath it's a meditation on the worthlessness of men.

Sadly, there's so much going on in Big Sky that the spotlight is taken away from Hazel and she becomes a bit part in her own story.

"Big Sky" is engaging, with select moments locating an intriguing tone of doubt, finding its more conventional ideas and stand-offs intrusive.
