Rev. Paul Hobson Sadler can best be described as Renaissance Man. He is a Pastor, educator, author, actor, vocalist, dancer, artist, consultant, professional coach and political activist. His interest in arts and culture began at very early age with the plays that he and older brother would produce for their single audience member, their mother, at home. His passion for music began in church listening to his favorite instrument the Pipe Organ and at the free summer outdoor concerts of the Philadelphia Orchestra that he and his parents would attend frequently. He began his training in the arts, studying dance at Howard University with Olivia Rivers and LaVerne Howell Reed. It was at that time that he met and was greatly influenced by dance legends Alvin Ailey and Louis Johnson. Because of their influence Rev. Paul organized a student Dance troupe, the Paul Hobson Sadler Dance Co. He later studied Dunham technique with Jewell McLauren in Chicago. Gifted with a resonant bass voice he studied vocal technique with Wagnerian tenor Reginald Farrar. He has used his voice in theatrical narration and commercial voice overs. In 2000 he recorded his first CD entitled "Paul Hobson Sadler Sings." He sang the roll of Brother Davis in the critically acclaimed Amen Corner at the Cleveland Play House, sang the haunting baritone vocal score for "Forest City" at the Cleveland Playhouse and performed the role of Carl Stokes in the first theatrical readings of From Breast Cancer to Broadway at the Cleveland Playhouse and Karamu House. He has sung and danced on the stage of the State Theatre with The Duffy Liturgical Dance Co. He has appeared as a guest artist at the club "Nighttown" with Jazz Vocalist Pat Harris. He has appeared in the movies, "Welcome to Colinwood" produced by George Clooney, "Antwone Fisher" directed by Denzel Washington, "The Soloist" starring Jamie Foxx, "With This Ring" directed by Nzinga Stewart and the student produced short film "Through Jessie's Window." He played the role of the pastor, in the ABC TV Special, "Joy Dawned Again." Directed by Joe Parlegreco. Writing is one of Rev. Paul's passions. He has published many articles, contributed to numerous devotional compilations and authored two books, "Walk in the Light: Insight and Reflections on Living the Christian Life" and his most recent book "52 Ways to Ignite Your Congregation: Worship" Each week he writes "Rev. Paul's Inspirational Message" to an audience that spans the globe. Rev. Paul uses his artistic gifts as he travels the country preaching and doing workshops and seminars. He often begins his presentations in "character" as Cab Calloway, H. Rap Brown or Little Richard. The one word that could never be used in relation to Rev. Paul is boring. He describes each day as "an opportunity for a new adventure," which he looks forward to with great joy and anticipation. Show less «
