A talent scout, looking for a six year old to play the lead role in the film One Fine Day (1996), noticed Gideon in his kindergarten class at a New York City public school. He was asked to audition for the director at 20th Century Fox and although he ended up with only a small role in that film, it was suggested that he should find an agent or manager to represent him. His parents, both doctors and lacking any experience in film or TV, sought the advice of a Jackie Reid, (his manager to this day), and asked whether Gideon had any talent worth represting. She met Gideon, along with his siblings and instinctively felt these children would get work, get a lot of it and quickly. She was right! Within three months, the Jacobs kids were cast in several national TV commercials and were on their way to becoming busy performers on TV, radio and film. Gideon alone has since appeared in over 100 television spots and many with his siblings. One of his favorite was when both he and his sister got to announce the World Series games between the Yankees and the Mets for Nickelodeon Games and Sports. Gideon loves baseball and not only did he get to see the games from the field, but he got to meet and interview many of the players during the games.By age eight, Gideon had already had the opportunity to work with some renowned film directors, including Nora Ephron when he was cast as the young Tom Hanks in "You've Got Mail" and with Barry Levinson, when he played the young Ben in Liberty Heights (1999). He has also appeared with Molly Shannon in Wet Hot American Summer (2001), with Courtney Love in Julie Johnson (2001) and Adam Sandler in Mr. Deeds (2002).He has made guest TV appearances on "Law and Order:SVU" and "The Education of Max Bickford". He has traveled to South Africa to film the part of Buzz in the ABC/Disney Movie of the Week, Home Alone 4. Gideon also recorded the voice for the lead role in the Niclelodeon animated pilot, Spidah and aspires to have a recurring voice-over role in an animated series. Show less «
