Talbert's heartfelt depictions of life and love, mixed with his ability to infuse comedy in the midst of chaos, have captivated audiences across the country, creating a loyal fan base, earning him the title "The People's Playwright."Since skyrocketing onto the national stage with his 1991 touring production of the outrageous comedy "Tellin' It Like It 'Tiz", Talbert's 14 touring stage productions have garnered record sold-out performances and an unprecedented 24 NAACP Theatre nominations, including the award for Best Playwright of the Year. In 1998, Talbert pioneered the medium of inspirational plays on DVD making his 7th play, Mr. Right Now, the first play ever available for retail. As a result of this recording, and the many that followed, his plays are now enjoyed worldwide in over 20 countries, spanning 4 continents.While continuing his success as a top grossing and highly respected playwright, Talbert successfully expanded his brand to film, television and publishing.In 2002, Talbert signed with Simon & Schuster to pen the National bestsellers "Baggage Claim" and "Love on the Dotted Line." The success of both spawned collaboration with hip hop icon Snoop Dogg for the novel "Love Don't Live Here No More."In 2007, Talbert wrote and produced the critically-acclaimed NBC television special for Academy Award winner Jamie Foxx, Unpredictable: A Musical Journey, which became the network's highest rated musical event of the year.
